Hello,
I will be spending 2 wks in Spain after a trip to Lisbon in June. Was thinking of flying to Seville, then visiting Granada, Valencia, and home from Barcelona. Could rent a car, but prefer public transit. I am open to suggestions regarding itinerary.
Many thanks,
Elizabeth
When planning, keep in mind how long it will take to get from place to place as it will eat into your overall time to visit places. If those are the cities you want to visit based on whatever reasons you chose them, then have a good trip. Each is worth visiting.
If you wanted to visit smaller cities and town with fewer tourists consider Extremadura and Castile and León. You could still fly into Sevilla and make a loop visiting places like Zafra, Mérida, Cáceres, Trujillo, Plasencia, Salamanca, Toledo, Madrid.
An alternative could be Sevilla over to Códoba then Granada, then up to Madrid via Jaén, Baeza, Úbeda.
Either suggested itinerary should require less travel time, but no matter where you decide to go and how you get there, you should have a great time. On my trips I get a rental and tend to visit the smaller out of the way places many tourists never get to.
That is a two week itinerary: Sevilla, Granada, Valencia, and Barcelona. What kind of suggestions are you looking for?
In Aug/Sep 2023, after visiting Portugal we flew from Lisbon to Seville and stayed 11 nights in Spain. Our trip report might aid your planning: https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/trip-reports/trip-report-spain-aug-sep-seville-ronda-granada-cordoba-madrid
