itinerary help Spain and Portugal

We will be traveling to Spain and Portugal in June. I would like suggestions on this itinerary. We will be meeting my son (20 years old) who will be studying in Valencia. We (my husband, 14 year old, and I) fly in to Madrid and out of Lisbon. We like an active, fast-paced vacations. Can we do this itinerary by train/bus and stay in Paradors/Pousadas or will we need cars?

june 18 arrive in Madrid in am (3 nights in Madrid)
June 19 Madrid museums
June 20 day trip to Segovia
June 21 travel to Granada (2 nights in Granada)
June 22 Granada
June 23 Cordoba or Ronda (1 night) Or other sugggestons?
June 24 travel to Seville (2 nights in Seville)
June 25 Seville
June 26 bus to Faro (1 night Faro)
June 27 drive or bus to Evora (1 night Evora)
June 28 drive or bus to Lisbon (3 nights Lisbon)
June 29 Lisbon museums
June 30 day trip to Sintra
July 1 flight to USA

This is, as you say, fast paced, but eminently feasible in my opinion, and your routing looks perfect.
I would choose Cordoba over Ronda and can recommend this hotel right opposite the mezquita ... http://www.hhposadadevallina.es/

May be worthy to rent a car for the few days in Portugal from Faro to Lisbon.
Trains and buses should serve you well in Spain.

I too would go with Cordoba over Ronda. The Mezquita is the best sight in Spain after the Alhambra. You can also see a great horse show at the Royal Stables there.

In Madrid, if you aren't all art lovers, consider splitting up. The boys could go to the excellent Maritime Museum, which is between the Prado and the Thiessen. The museum is run by the navy, so you need to have passports with you to enter.
