We are an active older couple interested in culture, the arts, history, nature, etc. planning a trip to Spain in November 2017. 14 nites total including Madrid 2 nites. Start in Seville. Have essentially 9 nites till we fly from Seville to Fez for 3 nites, and then fly to Madrid 2 nites, and go home from there. Do not really want it to be too hectic. Have not decided whether renting a car is needed. Would like to spend at least 4 nights in Seville. I don't see how it is possible to fit everything in! Deciding on possibly 2 nites Granada to see the Alambra and then?? Should we stay in Cordoba or just do a day trip? What about Malaga and/or Cadiz?? Any help appreciated! (our flight to Fez is not set yet-- we are checking other possibilities but there is an amazing deal with Ryanair from Seville)
You have to get a guide book on Spain and read for yourself to determine what you are interested in seeing in the region Andalusia. There is no specific place or set amount of days to visit a place that will satisfy every traveler's interests.
The cities you've mentioned are all served by train, so you would not need a car unless you decided you wanted one to efficiently explore a few of Andalucia's white hill towns, or to drive along the coast. Trains don't run along the south coast, so a connection like Malaga-Cadiz goes inland. Buses can be a good alternative in this area. Rick's guidebook summarizes transport between any areas that he covers (not Malaga or Cadiz).
Looking Up Train Schedules and Routes Online gives you the Deutsche Bahn train schedule link and tips for using it. Or you can go straight to the Spanish source at www.renfe.com.
