Itinerary help, please!

My husband and I just booked a trip for next May after seeing some great flight deals and are trying to figure out our itinerary. We don’t really enjoy art museums but do enjoy natural and history museums. We enjoy visiting historical sites and viewing architecture. So with that in mind here is what we are thinking:

Monday- fly out of Miami
Tuesday- land in Barcelona at 8:30 am
Wednesday- Barcelona
Thursday- Barcelona
Friday- Montserrat. Night in Barcelona
Saturday- fly to Granada in am. Stay in Granada.
Sunday- Granada
Monday- train to Sevilla
Tuesday- Sevilla
Wednesday- Sevilla
Thursday- train to Madrid. Use as a base for day trips.
Friday- Segovia
Saturday- Toledo
Sunday- fly homefrom Madrid.

I thought using Madrid as a base would be great to see the historical areas but with the understanding that we won’t see much of the city. Any changes you recommend? We are both in our mid thirties and don’t sit for long. I added a day more in Barcelona than I originally planned for time adjustment.

I would choose time in Madrid over a trip to Montserrat from Barcelona. For me that would mean a night less in Barcelona and a night more in Madrid.

Tue - ARRIVE at 8:30am in Barcelona (3N)
Wed - Barcelona
Thu - Barcelona
Fri - Fly to Granada (2N)
Sat - Visit the Alhambra
Sun - Train to Seville (3N)
Mon - Seville
Tue - Seville
Wed - Train via Cordoba (Mezquita) to Madrid (4N)
Thu - Madrid
Fri - Day to Toledo
Sat - Day to Segovia
Sun - DEPART Madrid

Thanks David! Did this seem too rushed or ok? I really don’t want to exclude Granada but will if I have to.

It’s fair given your restricted time. You must see the Alhambra so keep Granada in there. Enjoy.
