Itinerary help for trip in February with 2 kids

Hi. I am going to Spain for the first time with my 2 kids (10, 13) in February. We have 15 full days in Spain with the current rough itinerary below:

Day 1: Arrive in Madrid, recover!
Days 2-6: Madrid and day trips to Toledo and Segovia
Days 7-10: Train to Sevilla, explore Sevilla, day trip to Cordoba
Days 11-13 ???? This is where I need help
Days 14-15: Back to Madrid
Day 16: Fly home

I cannot figure out where and what we should do for Days 11-13 (3 nights). Should I add another day to Sevilla? Go to Granada? Or go to the coast, maybe Malaga or Cadiz or somewhere else fun on the coast? I have 2 active kids and we like outdoor activities. We also like to wander around towns, go to grocery stores, go to local parks and soak in the local culture.

Any advice or suggestions? Or anything you would suggest changing on the rest of the itinerary?

Thank you for any help!

I think February may be a bit early for the coast, but if you happen to like strange rock formations, take a look at El Torcal de Antequera, a natural park about 40 miles north of Malaga. We never heard about it before we arrived in Malaga, can't remember how we found out it existed, and were very impressed. As we were by car, I have no idea how yo get there by public transport.

By the way, I've never seen it mentioned on this site, neither by Rick Steves or by any contributor/commenter. It's a pity not more people seem to know about it.

Malaga itself, NOT the beach resorts to the west of it, has a low-key, attractive center, and is in my opinion very Spanish and not heavily touristed. If you want some culture, there is a Picasso museum (he was born in Malaga) and a nice cathedral.

Have a nice trip!

I think you really do need another night in Seville since you're using one day for the trip to Cordoba (which, incidentally, is worth at least two nights).

Most people would consider Granada a must for the other two nights. That's where I'd go unless you come up with an alternative you think would be particularly appealing to your family. If you decide on Granada, you'll need to get the Alhambra tickets early. It sometimes sells out for months at a time. Even in February you could be out of luck if you don't plan well ahead.

The Alcazar in Seville isn't as difficult a ticket as the Alhambra, but showing up without one will consign you to a long, outdoor ticket line. Not a good way to spend vacation time.
