We are flying in to Barcelona in July and do not like to spread ourselves too thin moving from city to city although we've never been to Spain. In addition to Barcelona, we would like to see the Alhambra. Any suggestions on transportation? Any other cities that should out list. We do love the beach. Thanks!
The "Explore Europe" link above will take you to a lot of info on places to go in Spain. The "Our Tours" link will show you itineraries of RS tours there, if you're looking for ideas. But keep in mind that you probably won't move around as efficiently as a tour would, with its own bus and such. Trains are a good way to get most places, and Spain has excellent rail service. Or, if you want to visit smaller towns and countryside, you could rent a car.
Southern Spain will be very hot in July. Barcelona has very good beaches.
Not sure Europe will be open in July.
If it is and you go, consider flying from Barcelona to Granada. Then taking in Seville and Cordoba then finally Madrid, Toledo and Segovia.
The beaches in the Costa Del Sol are nothing to brag about, in my opinion.
