Car or public transportation? The placement of the walk is odd. Seems it would be better to do it en route to Ronda rather than having to backtrack to that same area at the end of the trip. With the little time you have consider dropping Morocco.

We will use a mix of car and train when possible. Driving to Ronda. I put the hike towards the end because I was thinking it might be too much to do the hike that early on in the trip. But I also agree with you about the backtracking. It looks like the Morocco trip would be about 6 hours of travel time that day, I agree that's a push. Thank you for your feedback!

You could eliminate some driving if you went from Malaga to Granada, to Ronda, to Tarifa, to Sevilla. As it stands, you’re heading northwest from Malaga to reach Ronda then heading east to Granada only to backtrack further west to Tarifa and Sevilla.

Thank you I agree with you. Do you have an opinion on a day trip vs overnight in Tangier?

I haven’t been to Tangier in decades so couldn’t provide an informed opinion. Whether to spend a night might depend on what time you arrive there and if you can see what you want to see in the available time.

You’re trying to see Málaga, Caminito del Rey, Ronda, Granada, Tangier and Sevilla in ten nights? Granada and Sevilla also have airports so you may want to purchase multi-city tickets so you can fly into one airport and out of a different one.
Tangier is closest to Ronda and Málaga and is an outlier. If you’re going to eliminate a place, make it Tangier. When driving, expect it to take longer than what Google maps say. You’ll enjoy your trip more if you slow down. Remember, Europe is a place where meals last longer than at home. Enjoy the atmosphere and savor the moments instead of always trying to hurry to see it all so you can spend more time in a car getting lost and finding a parking spot.

We are flying into Malaga and out of Seville. If we stay overnight in Tarifa maybe that would be better ? We would be driving from Ronda.
New Itinerary
2 nights Malaga
2nights Granada
2 nights Ronda
2 night Tarifa
2 nights Seville
everything in this order

You have only one full day in Seville, plus perhaps a few hours. It's a large city with much to see. I'd want at least 4 nights there, and I'd drop Tangier in order to accomplish that.

Be sure to buy your Alhambra tickets way in advance. It sells out--sometimes very early.

We are considering skipping Morocco in favor of spending more time in Seville or even Granada. Granada seems to be more of what we enjoy, beautiful landscapes with outdoor opportunities as well as historical sites. Seville looks incredible certainly but more of a bustling city vibe is that correct? We will decide on Tangier this week!

I agree with spending more time in Seville, either 3 or 4 nights at a minimum. Seville is beautiful with gorgeous architecture, plazas, fountains, lush parks, and many important historical and cultural sites. I would be frustrated with only 1 to 1.5 days in Seville, but of course we may not have the same interests. While I enjoy nature and the outdoors, I think the history and culture in Seville is not to be missed. There is the Alcazar, the cathedral, several small palaces such as Casa di Pilates, which was a quiet oasis when we were there in 2017. There are quite a few interesting museums, which we didn't have time to visit. Exploring Triana is interesting and a lot of fun. There are markets such as the Triana market and Mercado Barranca. Plaza de Espagna is stunning. Take a carriage ride, see a Flamenco show.

We are almost ready to finalize this itinerary. We are considering going to Las Alpujarras and stay in Pamaneira one night instead of Ronda. Any opinions on which is better? Looks like Las Alpujarras is more remote and smaller but Ronda is more dramatic views but not a small village vibe. We would drive from Granada to Las Alpujarras and Las Alpujarras to Seville (4-5 hour drive?)

Day 1 Malaga
Day 2 Malaga
Day 3 Malaga Caminito del Rey hike
Day 4 Malaga to Granada
Day 5 Granada Alhambra
Day 6 Granada
Day 7 Granada to Ronda overnight Ronda
Day 8 Ronda to Seville
Day 9 Seville
Day 10 depart from Seville

At this point it’s a personal choice. Ronda will have more tourists, but is large enough where there are things to do in the evening. Las Alpujarras Is definitely more remote and you’ll see few, if any, tourists there. Look at the villages along the route you’d be taking to see if there is anything in any of them that is of interest to you. They are pretty small. It could end up that you’d be satisfied just driving through, and by, the “other” white towns.

While Ronda has the gorge and views of the new bridge from it, I wouldn’t say the views are more dramatic than in Las Alpujarras. If you choose Las Alpujarras please report back after your trip as I’ll be crisscrossing that area later in the spring and would appreciate your opinions of the places you visit.
