Hello,
I'm planning first trip to Spain in September. We will have 13 nights. What would be the suggested itinerary for Granada, Seville, Córdoba and a couple beach days in Nerja. We will enjoy usual tourist sites, local culture and cuisine. We are fairly active. Our only European experiences have been 3 trips to Italy and despite my husband's wish to go again to Italy I want to try a different country and picked Spain. Thank you.
Carolyn,
What airport are you flying into and out of?
Do you have any plans to visit Madrid?
If flying into/out of Madrid, you could do something like this:
- Arrive Madrid then travel directly to Sevilla on day of arrival (4N)
- Train & bus to Nerja (3N)
- Bus to Granada (2-3N)
- train or bus to Córdoba (1-2N)
- train to Madrid( 2-3N)
If you fly into Malaga & out of Madrid:
- Bus to Nerja on day of arrival (3N)
- Bus to Granada (2N)
- Train or bus to Sevilla (3-4N)
- Train to Córdoba (1-2N)
- Train to Madrid (3N)
You probably already know that it will be very hot in Andalucía in September, right?
I'd suggest you book your Alhambra tickets as early as 3 months in advance.
Have fun planning your trip!
Thank you very much. We will be flying out of Boston. Maybe I'll push the the trip to late September or early October for better climate.
