Issues with Purchasing Sagrada Familia Tickets

UPDATE:
I spoke to my daughter's fiancé who is a software engineer. He said that for some reason, the website might have put a block on my email address and/or combination of email/tour date/tour time. So he tried to make a purchase using a gmail account different from mine and a different phone number. In doing so, he was able to get to the credit card screen. So, I tried making the purchase myself on my computer using my husband's gmail account instead of my own. Again, I received the error. I tried a different browser and the same result. Next, I tried using the app with mobile data, my husband's email, same date of visit, but selected a different time slot and success! The purchase went through. Definitely frustrating, but now I can check Sagrada Familia tickets off my to do list and move on with my life, lol!

Thank you Raymonlee for showing me that the issue was a quirk unique to this user's parameters.

Greetings fellow travellers,
Since July 27, I have attempted to purchase two tickets for a tour of the Sagrada Familia via their official website. We are wanting two tickets for October 13th for an English Guided Tour with admission to the Towers. My attempts to purchase the tickets have been unsuccessful as I receive an error which is preventing me from entering my payment information. I am able to get as far as entering the personal details, but when I hit the PAY button, I get an error message that simply says “Error – Try Again.”

I have communicated via e-mail with the customer support department at Sagrada Familia regarding my issues. Their most recent reply is below:
[Resuelto] Fwd: Problems with purchasing tickets online via official website Locator Number XXXXXX
Good morning,
It is possible that your purchase is not passing the security protocols, try one or more of the following options:
1. First of all we recommend using a different internet connection, i.e. if you are using a WiFi network, we recommend switching to a different WiFi or using mobile data. Also, we advise against using a public network (hotel, restaurant, B&B, etc.)
2. The next option is to use a different email address. We recommend using the @gmail, @hotmail, @yahoo, or @icloud domains.
3. Use another device (PC or phone).
The only way to buy tickets for the Sagrada Família is from the official website: https://sagradafamilia.org/es/home or on the app.
If you still have problems, you can buy tickets at the Sagrada Família by asking for help from the staff of “Audioguiarte" accesses and explaining your problems with the website. They have an ATM to buy tickets in these cases, but only basic tickets, without the option of a tower or guided tour. Also, subject to the capacity of the day and only for the same day of purchase.

This is what I have done try and complete the purchase:
• I am using a gmail.com email address
• I have tried different browsers on my computer – Chrome and Firefox
• I have cleared my history and cookies from my computer
• I have rebooted my computer
• I tried purchasing tickets from my iPhone using Safari and Chrome with Wi-Fi and with mobile data
• I have tried using the official Sagrada Familia app with Wi-Fi
• I have tried using the app with mobile data with my Wi-Fi turned off
• I have input all my personal info in all fields, I have tried using only the *required fields and I have even tried saying my county is Spain and used our hotel’s postal code
• I had my sister who lives in a different state try to purchase the tickets on my behalf and she received the same error which did not let her get to the screen to enter the payment information, even though she had a totally computer and different internet provider/Wi-Fi network.

I hope to go up to my daughter’s over the weekend and have her fiancé (software engineer) help me.

Hello Malette,

I purchased tickets for Sagrada Familia this past May on the official site https://sagradafamilia.org/. I also just tried using your date, number and type of tickets. I was able to proceed without error to the point where I needed to input my credit card information.

Recommendation - try inputting everything - do not let data be auto filled.
Steps - 1 - select buy tickets, 2 - select buy at tickets with guided tour and tours, 3 - select date, 4 - select English and then on that same screen select time, 5 - select your time to enter the Sagrada (recommendation 30 minutes to 1 hour before tour time), 6 - indicate the number of each type of ticket to purchase, 7 - select continue, 8 - manually enter your information including a phone number even if you will not be using it, (make sure that the phone number country code is correct, also select the country which is just below the phone number, 9 - accept the terms and conditions and privacy policy then select pay. You should now be able to enter your credit card information.

Please let me know if this works for you.

Edit - you also have to select which towers in field #2 if you choose this type of ticket. I’ve gotten it to work repeatedly at least seven times in a row.

Raymonlee - Thank you for your input. Multiple times I have been able to get to Step 9, as outlined in your reply. I have input data in all the fields, including telephone number and country, but once I hit the red PAY button on the personal info screen, I get an error and the system will not allow me to advance to the next screen to enter my credit card payment details.

Are you saying you hit the PAY button and advanced to the next screen where you could enter your credit card info?

Thank you,
Malette

Yes I was able to hit the pay button and access the screen where you have to input your credit card information. Additionally, I found that it didn’t matter whether the system auto filled my information. I’m so sorry that the system is not working for you. I’ve encountered something akind to this in the distant past and understand that it can be frustrating.

I did a google search regarding the error message on the Sagrada Familia website. A poster on TripAdvisor had success when using a different email address. My Hotmail address works just fine.

Edit - Oops, I just saw that you received this recommendation already.

I am thrilled that you have been successful. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit three months ago. There are two or three different entrances. There will also be a thorough “TSA” type of security screening so give thought to what you carry with you that day. Belts come off, keys and wallets out of pocket. No beverages allowed - water, coffee, etc. It is not an intrusive screening. Enjoy.

We had an issue with our Costco Citi card. Finally called Citi and they spent 20 minutes working through the problem with customer service and their security folks. Apparently, Visa ahead of the bank authorization has a security check. The wonderful people at Citi were able to see the issue and stayed on the line until I was able to get the tickets. Recommendation: call your card issuer and talk to an agent to resolve this. I think the VPN solution may only be a shot-in-the-dark solution. Call your card issuer to resolve this.
