Hello!
I have been attempting to purchase Alhambra tickets without much success. I have seen this issue mentioned on multiple travel sites, but all of the threads appear to be from 2012 or 2013. Has anyone had issues with purchasing tickets online, and if so, how did you solve the issue? I have a travel notice on my card for that time period and went in to update that I am making ticket purchases. I have only tried with Chrome on two different computers. It lets me get to the pop up screen saying it is verifying my card and then the page goes dead. Thank you!
One thing you might try is advising your CC fraud alert line about what you are doing. I have had attempts at such purchases fail, apparently because the fraud software thought someone in Europe was using my card without permission.
Call your credit card company; they can tell you if the transaction got to them and was rejected by them (which just happened to me with a UK hotel website), or if it never got to them to be rejected (which happened to me with the Renfe website).
You can also try a different browser; this can definitely yield different results.
As above.
And 'It lets me get to the pop up screen saying it is verifying my card and then the page goes dead' - whichever your card, are you signed up for Verified for Visa or Mastercard SecureCode?
Tricia,
If you're still having trouble booking your tickets online, you can buy them by calling +34 902 888 001
Your other option is to contact them via the Alhambra's official website:http://www.alhambra-patronato.es/index.php/Contact/222/0/?&no_cache=1&L=2
When I booked my tickets (last year), I used Firefox. I also read somewhere that using Internet Explorer works too.
Have a wonderful trip!
We also experienced problems using Google Chrome. Then used Safari and had no issues.
Card companies can do this if they suspect frauds. I was purchasing my Sevilla to London plane tickets on British Airways site and my card was declined. I called Cap One to see what was up, and they declined the charge because they suspected fraud. I told them no, I had legitimately tried to make the transaction. They reset the system or whatever they had to do, told me to wait 10 minutes and try again. I did and the transaction sailed through.
I did appreciate their vigilance.
Back in April I used Safari and did it in Spanish. It worked fine. Good luck.
