I am making reservations for our September trip and hoping I am timing things correctly. I have 9:30 entry tickets for Park Guell, and
12:15 tickets for La Pedrera. When tickets become available I am hoping to get Sagrada Familia at 3:00 or 4:00. Does anyone know how long to plan for La Pedrera? We did not get a tour guide for this one. My in between times we are planning to walk the area and look at other sites etc. I am trying not to over schedule where we are running from one ticket to another with out enjoying the city.
I am trying to book things by neighborhood. I have many other questions but will put in another post!
I just looked at the time stamps on my photos that I took when we went to La Pedrera 4/24. We were there for almost 2 and a half hours. That was for 2 reasons; one being that I watched videos of other Gaudi structures inside La Pedrera as well as the second being that we had to wait a long time to take photos on the roof as there were a lot of young people taking selfies and so-called Instagrammable shots which took each one awhile.
I'd make the same comment and also add that you cannot be sure you'll get into places like La Pedrera at the time shown on your ticket. Crowding is a constant in those places, and it seems they let X people inside only after X people leave. I'm guessing you won't have an entry delay at Parc Guell.
Barcelona is a lovely city with a lot of architectural eye candy. Allowing time to wander between sightseeing appointments is a very good idea, but you may not have a lot of walking-around time if you schedule three timed sights on one day. When are you going to grab lunch?
By 3 pm, the security and admissions lines at Sagrada Familia will likely delay your entry into the church. It’s better to schedule entry there as close to opening time as possible for both a fast entry and to beat the heat standing outside in a lengthy line.
You actually can enter Park Guell without a ticket before the official opening time of 9:30am (9am during July and August).
Interesting, I was going off the RS Barcelona guide book and thought going later in day 3, 4 or 5 pm would also be good. Sounds like it will not. Wondering if I schedule this for first thing on a morning and then go to some other neighborhood for the day.
