Hi;
Please can anyone tell me if there is a mobile phone shop in Barajas Airport where I can buy a Spanish sim Card .
I have an unlocked smart phone.
I want to buy it on arrival from Canada, (not sure which terminal I'll be in); so that I can call my friends in Madrid, and let them know when to expect me.
Any recommendation for a reliable sim card with data?

You may be able to buy a SIM card at Crystal Media Shops at the airport.
I purchase a Lebara SIM card at the Atocha train station, so didn't look at the airport.
If you do end up finding a SIM card at the Crystal Media Shop, please let us know for future reference ;-)
If your friends live in Madrid, they may know if there is a shop at the airport.

My friends don't live there; they are just arriving two days before me, and I want to make sure they are at the rental apt. when I arrive!

There are kiosks that will sell you a sim card.
I think that Orange and Vodafone are the two most popular companies.
