Saw in a Yahoo internet article that Spain is requiring non EU travelers to show proof of travel insurance upon entry to the country as of 2025. Not sure how accurate this is. Has anyone experienced this recently? Thanks in advance for the information.
You can google some more, but my understanding is that if you arrive from a country requiring a Schengen Visa, travel insurance is required. Travelers from the US do NOT require a Visa to enter Spain - thus, no requirement for travel insurance.
Thank you for the information! It is much appreciated.
You need to present only your passport.
Terrific. Thank you very much.
Well, the reality is that, yes, you can be asked about health coverage, as well as sufficient funds, proof of onward travel, where you will be staying, the purpose of your visit, etc.
These are all requirements laid out in the Visa waiver agreement that allows you to travel visa free.
However, rarely are you asked, usually just how long are you staying and what is the purpose of your visit.
Something like a health care card would be sufficient.
Thank you Paul. Much appreciated.
