Thinking of 10 or 11 days trip to Europe. Based on my previous experience on coupe of Europe tour in peak summer (June to Aug) hotness, I have deiced to go in September 2nd and third week, prior to my son's college start date in California. Thinking of three cities (London, Madrid and Barcelona), to stay 3 nights in each cities. I am getting reasonable airfare for the multicity (LAX to London and Barcelona to LAX) Is September a good month to visit these cities?
Anytime is a good time to go, especially if that’s when you can travel. I enjoy traveling in September since it’s at the end of the high travel season and lodging and airfare tend to be a little less expensive. It can still be warm in early to mid September, so dress accordingly.
As said, any month is good. If you can plan to stay in BCN on either the 11th or 22nd-25th, both dates will present interesting events for you. On the 11th is the National Day of Catalonia -sort of your 4th of July but with more things to see :)- and the weekend 22nd-25th is the festivities of La Mercè, the saint patroness of Barcelona. Lots to see and do.
