Is Nerja worth it?

We are traveling to Spain the last week of May to visit my niece who is spending a semester in Seville. We have 12 nights in Spain. I'd like to spend some time in Madrid, Seville, Granada & Cordoba. Ronda also sounds very interesting. Typically we like to spend at least 2 nights in each city. Trying to decide whether it is worth spending time in Nerja? My sister went there & liked it. Any thoughts or other suggestions? Also having trouble fitting in Toledo.

Yes. Very quaint and relaxing. Go if you have the time.
Spending at least 2 nights in each place is always a good idea, since changing hotels often is time consuming. However Seville is, in my opinion, the most beautiful city in Spain, and you should spend a minimum of 3 nights. Córdoba and Granada are beautiful also but a bit smaller, so you might be able to squeeze them with 2 nights only. I don't care much about Madrid (too modern for my European taste) but Toledo is a gem (it can be visited from Madrid since it's just half hour away by train).

OK now it looks like this...

Day 1: Arrive in Madrid, stay 1 night
Day 2: Train to Seville for 3 nights
Day 5: Bus to Ronda for 1 night
Day 6: Train/bus to Nerja via Malaga; 2 nights in Nerja
Day 8: Train/bus to Granada for 2 nights
Day 10: Train to Cordoba for 1 night
Day 11: Train to Toledo for 1 night
Day 12: Train to Madrid for last night

Breaking the 2 night rule 3 times....

We did a day trip to Nerja from Malaga & had time to visit the caves, lunch at the Parador & walk to the Balcony of Europe to enjoy the view. It was a nice side trip but I wouldn't take away from Sevilla which deserves 3 nights, more if doing a day trip to Cordoba. We also did Ronda as a day trip. Toledo is way more impressive and an easy day trip from Madrid.

Two nights somewhere is only one day actually there. I think you are trying to pack too much into your limited time.

Your flight will probably arrive in Madrid early in the morning. Go ahead and catch your train to Seville and spend your first night in Spain there (recommend Hotel Amadeus in Santa Cruz). Double up your nights in Madrid for the end of your trip.

I'll be in Nerja for 4 days in May and then driving to Granada and dropping off the car. The on,y way to get from there to Córdoba, currently, is by bus. The train isn't running.

I day tripped from Granada to Nerja in October and had a nice day including driving along the coast and looking out onto the Mediterannean Sea then out to the Balcony of Europe for lunch with a view and then we walked the town,it was a nice day.
