Hello Everyone,
I'm trying to check rail options from Barcelona, Spain to Paris, France and came across this site:

Just wanted to check if anyone has tried booking from this site?
Hello Everyone,

Can't vouch for that site but can vouch for Loco2.com as the easiest site that is completely in English and doesn't add charges to tickets. And can complain at some length about the official renfe site which isn't good.
Good luck,

Thanks Tod!
Renfe (https://venta.renfe.com) is at 199 euros
Loco (https://loco2.com/) is at 59 euros
Trenes (https://train.trenes.com/) is at 42 euros
I guess I rather add a few euros and go with Loco. Thank you!
Check to see if you're getting upsold in class or flexibility - both of these cost more.
On Loco2 you'll see the lowest price and there's a big pink square box with a down arrow. If you drop this down you will get your upgrade options - semi-flexible, flexible, first class etc. Flexibility is up to you for security versus price. If you have a fixed ticket and miss your train you're out the ticket. Flexibility will let you rebook for free or for a cost with semi-flexible.
All seats are assigned and all get there at the same time. First class gets you larger leather seats and sometimes free food on longer trips. So first class is generally probably not worth it unless you have a really long journey but sometimes it's the cheapest or just a couple of euros more so then 'what the heck' why not book first class instead? No, it doesn't make sense but a lot about Renfe doesn't make a ton of sense at times.
If you're buying just a TER ticket and not an AVE ticket - mostly local trains - you'll actually get a ticket for that train on that day and you can take any train making that trip rather than getting a ticket for the 8:30 specifically. Of you use those tickets make sure you validate them with the stamper machine before boarding the train.
If you're just starting out with train travel in Spain or in Europe I can't recommend this guy's site enough: https://www.seat61.com/Spain.htm
He's the one that turned me on to Loco2 and has a ton of information about train stations all over Europe and history on why the train companies in some countries are such a hot, complicated mess.
Booked everything for my trip in Spain through Loco2 and never had a problem - I was even able to use my phone to make schedule changes to a semi-flexible ticket when I wanted to. The Renfe site was just bad - it wouldn't find a fare from Barcelona to Toledo for me so I would have had to book each leg separately and it randomly switches back to Spanish - especially in the middle of paying.
Have a great trip,

Hi tyrker
- its for 28 May 2019.
- For Trenes.com, check to see if you can view it using this link
- Referencing to Todd's classification tip, I just reviewed that Trenes is giving second class without cancellations compared to Locos standard class with semi-flexible classification.
Hi Tod
- you are right. I am having Renfe switch to Spanish
- also you are correct in class, the 39 euros is for 2nd class without cancellations
- so I guess the price difference is not that big compared to Loco2
So the question remains if anyone has already tried booking from trenes.com...
