Is 2 hours enough time to catch a connecting flight at Barcelona airport?

I will arrive in Barcelona from the U.S. at 2pm. Vueling has a flight to Granada leaving at 4:25pm. Is 2 1/2 hours enough time to catch my next flight?
I would have separate tickets. I already purchased my tickets from U.S. to Barcelona, and would now buy a standalone ticket on Vueling from Barcelona to Granada. Does that make this un-doable?? I plan to have a carry-on suitcase.

Thank you for your assistance!

If they are on separate tickets? Maayyybe. IF your first flight is not delayed. IF Passport Control isn't backed up. IF you don't have checked luggage. Then you would probably make it.

While there is of course a risk that you'll miss the connection, I'd book with a 2 1/2 hour window.

Roughly 7 out of 10 flights on time -- 7% are late by an hour or more. But when they are late , many times other connecting flights are late too so connections still can be made.

Some people hate being rushed and worrying. If this is true for you, then find a later connecting flight.

Good luck and happy travels!

The other issue is baggage.

Vueling is fairly strict. If all you have is carry-on will it comply?

If your bundle includes a cabin bag of max. 10 kg (55x40x20 cm.), or you have arranged it separately, you must bring it on board and place it in the overhead locker. https://www.vueling.com/en/vueling-services/prepare-your-trip/luggage

If you have to retrieve and re-check bag(s) your time gets extremely tight as you would have to go through security to get back the gate.

We have done this and made the flight. We flew Iberia and checked our baggage and it was automatically transferred to our flight. We also knew there was a later flight to take in case we missed the original connecting flight. Be sure and study how to navigate the airport to efficiently get from your international arrival gate to the next gate. Do not exit out into the general area for this would create the need to clear security!

This is true, only if the entire trip is on a single ticket.

OP has not made clear if doing this as a single booking i.e., USA-BCN-GRX as a single ticket or stitching together two tickets, USA-BCN and then BCN-GRX.

While I think you'd likely make a 4:25 pm flight, you seem worried about it so if you want to de-stress book the 8:35 pm flight instead (assuming you're doing the Sunday arrival.) On weekdays, flights are circa hourly. On Sundays, there is a bigger time gap.

Good luck!
