In Arcos. No plans next 5 days. Predicted rain all week. Help?

It's day 10 of 34 in Spain. I've got a hole in my scheduled destinations but didn't figure it would rain for the next week. I was going to do the next five days slowly in small towns to work on my Spanish and eat what the locals eat. Between this and last year I've spent all the time I wanted in Barcelona, Granada, Cordoba, Seville, Cadiz and Tarifa and Morocco.

Although I'm retired, I still carry a backpack and front pack. I really don't enjoy doing that in the rain, especially at the distances between town and train/bus stations I've read about. I hate it when walking from place to place looking for a room. I usually book ahead, but local looking may be necessary in such towns.

So, plan B is base camp in Seville for day trips. I've stayed 2 nights in a neighborhood with a bus line that connects the Santa Justa station and the Pardo bus station. Everything I need would be a short walk.

That's my plan, though I'm hoping for and open to posts saying 'But did you think/know about this...'

Maybe train up to Madrid, Toledo and/or Salamanca or go to Malaga.
Also depends on what your interests are and where rest of your trip takes you.
I also am not a shill but loved the flower festival in Girona May 7-16
If you haven't done Girona, Figures for Dali Museum and House in Cadiques could do that in 5 days.

Thanks and Oops. I failed to mention rain is predicted for All of Spain, though the west will be hit first and hardest.

I've been to Ronda twice and really liked it. But I mostly wandered around outside, and it will be raining there, too...

I'm arriving in Madrid on May 16 myself. Don't like hearing about this much rain!

I have been in Jerez all today today. Rain was forecast, but for the most part it has been sunny and lovely, with a couple short periods of light drizzle. Jerez is really wonderful, much better than I expected, with many worthy sites, and very friendly people, not even counting the incredible Feria del Caballo.
