Ibiza to open in June

The Tourism Minister of Spain said that Ibiza will be ready to reopen to tourists in June using a new vaccine passport. This same vaccine passport would then be used for the rest of Spain.

At that time, it will only be available to EU residents. No mention was made regarding visitors from North America.

Not just Ibiza but the whole of Spain, well for UK visitors at the moment at least. However, the important detail is what quarantine requirements, if any, are needed on return to the UK and that won't be known until nearer the time.

Both the France24 news and the DW news have been running stories about how French people fleeing the stricter rules in France have been using Madrid and Barcelona as getaway opportunities, and having a good ol' time while not respecting the local residents. (But that's been going on in Barcelona for a while, apparently, not just under Covid.)

The tourist economy is like salty snacks and cigarettes -- they know it's bad in the long run but hard to resist in the moment.

Two new posters amazingly have something distinctly in common in their first posts, what a coincidence! Another ham fisted attempt at advertising, such ineptitude. Reported.

*edit - my comment referred to two spam posts that have since been removed, likewise Nigel's response.
