How to pay parking ticket from Cudillero on rental car

Hi,

I have read some past message about paying parking tickets on rental cars on this forum but my ticket was not issued by DGT. It was issued by the Cudillero city (got it this past week while there and I am back in the US now) and on the ticket it says to pay to a certain account of CAJA. I don't speak Spanish, so I sent a note (using a translation to translate the message into Spanish) to the email inquiry listed on the ticket as to transfer the money, my bank needs much more info (eg., name of account, address, IAB, etc), I have not heard back. I have no clue what CAJA is either.

I simply have not idea what I need to do, and I would like to take care of it and pay the 50% discounted rate of 40 euros vs the 80 euros if things drag on. I wish it were issued by DTG, but it is not and I tried to pay it on the DTG site but the ticket simply does not have the information that the DTG site would need.

Would appreciate your advice. Thanks!

Caja has many meanings, box, checkout, cash register, and even bank. It’s a shame you couldn’t pay it while there. Since I don’t have the text of the actual notification/infraction, it’s possible it refers to Caja Rural de Asturias, a bank.

Seems like there should be a URL to where it can be paid online or wire the funds. You will need the information your bank mentioned for wiring the funds and that should be on the infraction.

That being said, if what you received is from the rental company then it’s just a notification that you got a ticket and it provided your information to the municipality. If you received it in the mail from the municipality, that’s the actual infraction. Until you receive it, there’s nothing you can do.

Thank you, @jaimeelsabio.

There is no url for online payment on the ticket, which was placed on the windshield of my rental car. It was unfortunately my last day in Spain and when I googled quickly that day, the answer seemed to be I could pay it via DTG site. it was only when I got back to the US, with the ticket translated via the translation app, that I saw the only details for payment on the ticket being to transfer money to a CAJA account number. I did try the DTG site and it didn't work due (the fields on the ticket do not line up with what the DTG site needs)...

Here’s what I found online:

To pay a ticket from Cudillero online, visit the DGT website (the national traffic authority) and use the no-login portal to make a credit or debit card payment with the necessary fine details and your NIE number, if you have one. You'll need the expedient number, the notification date, and the amount of the fine. Choose English as your language option on the DGT site, enter your details, and follow the prompts to complete the payment.

Steps to Pay Online

Go to the DGT website: Access the DGT (Dirección General de Tráfico) website.

Select English: At the top right of the page, use the drop-down menu to select English as your language.

Find the payment portal: Navigate to the section for paying fines, which is usually under "Multas" (fines) or "Pago de multas" (payment of fines).
Choose the no-login option: Select the option for paying without a digital ID or certificate.
Input your information: Enter your NIE number (if you have one), name, email address, and the details from your fine. You will need:
The expedient number (document number)
The notification date
The full amount of the fine

Make the payment: Provide your credit or debit card details (card number, expiry date, security code) to complete the transaction.

Save your receipt: After paying, you will receive a payment receipt, which you should save as a PDF and print for your records.

Since you don’t have an NIE, select passport, and use your passport number. Hope it works.

Thank you for much for taking the time to look into this and sharing the info. I greatly appreciate it.

I did find this info earlier also and made the attempt, but the data fields on the ticket, issued by Cudillero, do no line up with the DTG site. There is no document number on the ticket that is 12 digits, which is required by DGT payment site. My thinking now is that this ticket is directly issued by the Cudillero City. I have reread the ticket translation again and the account number of CAJA Rural de Asturias, which is actually a bank as I googled. There is still the recipient name, address, IBAN/SWIFT code info that are required in order for me to transfer the money from my bank, which I have received no reply from the issuing entity for my email inquiry. I tried calling the number they listed but it's a telepromting system in Spanish.

It's unfortunate that their system is so difficult for tourists, for a place that thrives in tourism...
