Can you please to advise the best way to get from Barselona to Montserrat.
Thank you.
I went to Montserrat in January of 2017. I recommend taking the funicular up to the mountain top to do some hiking, FYI. I had excellent information and directions that I got on this forum. The link is as follows:
And as very well stated in the post above, the trans montserrat ticket is the way to go from Barcelona. I followed this excellent advice last october. Bought my ticket at placa catalunya and it included everything: metro-train-funicular, visit and comeback.
... glad that my post was helpful, to add that in February every year there are a few weeks in which the cable car is down for its annual maintenance so you'll have to ascend via the rack train.
Enric, your tips and posts are extremely detailed and so helpful. When people ask me about getting around Barcelona, I direct them to this forum and your excellent directions complete with photos. It's like getting directions from your mom because they are so specific. ;) When we got to Barcelona airport, we were so tired and jet lagged, we followed your directions to Girona, word by word and used the pictures. "OK, girls, now we are looking for a skyway, that looks like this". I'm pretty good at navigating in most places, but in a new country, with a different language and customs and being tired and jetlagged, that level of detail is so helpful.
this is me now, Jules.
Thank you, all very much! Got it!
Enric, I thank you also very much.
Btw, i’m on a train between Sevilla and Madrid at the moment, finishing my 18 days vacation in Spain. :-)
Did you enjoy?.... you've "missed" all the heat dear... now it's starting :)
Enric, glad to have put a smile on your face. You clearly love your city and share your love to aid tourists. I also love where I live and offer help to anyone I see with a map or guidebook. In November, my husband and I are flying into Madrid and will be heading directly to Sevilla. Hopefully I will be able to get instructions in similar detail to the ones I got in Barcelona!
Enric, I’ve spent most of my trip north, having done Andalucia 4 years ago.we did Barcelona in october. So we did Tarragona, went north to spend a few days in Ainsa and the Pyrenees, then, 2-3 days in San sebastian and around. Then 3 days in Cangas de onis and picos de europa, i loved this part of the country. We then went south to see Leon, burgos, Avila. Brought the car back to Madrid to take the train to go back a city I just love, Sevilla. Arrived in Madrid today for 4 days, one of those will be used to go back to Toledo also visited in 2014 but felt I didn’t spend enough time.
Ending on monday... :-(
