Good morning, We will be in Madrid on October 12, 2024. Admission is free at the museums that day because of the holiday. I believe we still need to book a time reservation. How can I do that directly with the Museum? We want to go to Sofia Reina and the Prado. Thank you for instructions.
I went to the Reina Sofía website and from the link, scroll down to where it says free admission, then click on “Buy.” From there, select a date and number of tickets. What I didn’t see was a place to select a specific time. When I made a dummy reservation a time was automatically entered.
On the Prado website, it wouldn’t allow me to select 12 October, so it’s possible it’s first come first serve.
For timing purposes, walking between the museums will take about 15 minutes.
Don’t underestimate the amount of time it will take to visit the museums if you’ve never been before. The Prado will probably take longer to visit. To me, 2 hours at the Reina Sofía is sufficient.
Thank you. I was able to get 3 tickets for Sofia Reina. I was not able to select a time. They assigned me 10:00 a.m. but we aren't arriving until noon. I have emailed their customer service. If anyone has other insights on selecting a time that would be helpful. I didn't get that far with the Prado Museum
I believe there isn’t timed entry that day. 10am is the time the museum opens. Enjoy your visits.
