How to buy the bus ticket to get to El Escorial from Madrid

We want to visit El Escorial in April 2024, traveling from the Moncloa bus station in Madrid on a weekday morning. How do we purchase the ticket for Bus 661 or 664 from Moncloa to El Escorial? Do we purchase the ticket directly from the driver?

Also, do we get to the bus directly at the Moncloa subway station?

Thanks in advance

Hello Tcgnj - The Moncloa interchange has metro and bus, there is no train. The ticket is purchased directly on the bus (661 or 664) It is about 5 Euros and the journey will take approximately 1 hour. I will give you the bus schedules, as you will see 664 runs more frequently. Depending on where you are staying, you will have to take the metro to the Moncloa interchange. Search within the bus zone and there to locate the corresponding dock. To read the bus schedule in English on the links below, change the language tab on the right of the page from Spanish to English.
