How to Buy Online Tickets for Cordoba Alcazar

It seems that they have the worst website ever. I'm trying to pre-book tickets and am having difficulty doing so. Their own site is weird and doesn't even offer tickets. Other sites seem to only offer guided tours, which is not what we want.

Thank you so much

We also walked straight up to the kiosk to get tickets when we arrived. No lines when we were there in March.

Just go early in the day when the line is shortest. The alcazar itself is not worth much time, but the gardens are spectacular this time of year and we spent a very enjoyable hour there. If it's raining, I'd skip it altogether.

Thank you all so much. Good to know that the lines will hopefully not be long.

Hi,

If you have Rick's book on Andalusia, read what he has to say about the Alcazar in Cordoba. No line implies something.

Wayne, I have his Spain book, but not the Andalusia one. Does "no line" mean that it's not worth visiting?

I believe the Alcazar in Cordoba is definitely worth visiting. The gardens are amazing!!! The interior is okay, nothing spectacular, but the gardens are definitely worth it.

The Cordoba Alcazar building itself isn't particularly memorable, at least compared to the one in Sevilla or even the castles in Malaga, Jaen and Almeria. I went to Jerez for the first time a few weeks ago and the buildings of its alcazar are also more interesting than Cordoba's.

However, the gardens at Cordoba are fantastic, perhaps amongst the best in southern Spain. I suppose that does depend on (a) time of year and (b) whether you're interested in gardens. Personally, I'd rather spend a couple of hours in the gardens than I would in most art galleries. But others, I know, prefer looking at pictures.

In any case, it's cheap to visit and not out of the way from other sights (just a few minutes walk from the Mezquita-Catedral), so unless you have a very tight "time budget", I think it's well worth seeing and you can then make up your own mind.

Thank you again! Yes, I have heard that the gardens are the part worth visiting and we are looking forward to that.
