I’ve been watching YouTube videos and reading Facebook posts on the Nativity Tower. I actually bought a ticket already but am now second guessing myself about walking down the 400 steps. Asking if anyone out there has done this and what their experience was like.
We did it last October. Not bad at all. FYI, we’re both over 65.
Seeing is better:

I you have vertigo, it can be a bit scary. I got a little dizzy walking down but the key is not to look over the rail.
My time at Sagrada Familia in 2015 (I was 63 then) was wonderful. I did the Passion Tower stairs and it wasn’t too daunting but, yes, if you have vertigo, might be wise to just mostly look at the stairs as you descend. There are numerous landings with windows where you are able to look out at the views along the way and to rest for a bit.
You had to walk down the stairs in 2016 when I was there, no choice, as the elevators were only for people going up.
There was a sign saying so at the bottom so that you knew before the ascent.
I did not like going down the stairs at all.
I felt unsafe and went very slowly, looking at the wall the whole time and not looking over the edge.
I seem to remember the railing was very low and that’s what me me feel like that.
I’m not a fan of heights.
I can’t go out on a friends balcony on the 27th floor where they live!
My experience was similar to S J, I did it a few years ago and it was not a pleasant experience, it felt like it tooks hours to make the descent. Looking back I don't really remember any of the nice views, just the stress of walking down a dizzying spiral of stairs with nothing but a laughably short railing between you and a precipitous drop.
