We are planning a trip to Barcelona Oct.20. I have found a flight from our home airport in Orlando, FL. to Barcelona with a stop at Chatles DeGaul. with Air France. We will continue on Air France to Barcelona. The layover allowed is 2hrs. 5min. Is that enough time to allow?
In theory it would work. As long as your flight isn't delayed arriving, Passport Control isn't backed up, and you dont have to change terminals. Use the Easy CDG website for info and directions. Personally, I'd prefer an extra 30 minutes, but if you miss the connection, Air France is responsible for getting you on the next available flight.
To me that is pretty tight. Are you coming in on a Delta Flight? If so that will be Terminal 2E and the outbound Air France flight will likely be 2F. There is signage to follow between terminal buildings.
When is the next flight to Barcelona on Air France? That is always good to know because if you miss the flight they will put you on the next available flight. IF available I would book a longer transit time.
BTW. a couple of years ago I timed how long it took me from the door of my Delta plane (so probably 15 minutes after landing for the door to open and for me to get TO the door) to my Air France gate. Walking steadily it took 1h5m and that included time going thru security in 2F and then going thru passport control in 2F to enter the Schengen Zone. I hit a time at passport control where I was literally the first one thru.
I agree it's a bit tight. Where your sitting on the plane can make a huge difference on transfer times.. The folks in the front of the plane will be going through immigration while those in the aft section are still trying to get off the plane.
Also, your flights aren't until October. There's a good chance there will be a schedule change or 2 before then. After purchasing my tickets, I usually check my flights for schedule/seat changes on a weekly basis so there are no unpleasant surprises.
That should be enough time.
It helps to check which terminal your arrival flight arrives at and your departure flight departs from.
