How do I travel from Seville to Granada?

My husband and I will be in Seville the beginning of April for four nights. We, then, are moving on to Granada. I am having difficulty finding train transportation. It seems there is a bus involved. I've seen something about repairs on the tracks. We would rather take the bus if the train involves switching. Some detailed advice is greatly appreciated.

We drove. I agree with jazz + travels, if your desire is to use public transportation, take the bus. I did the bus/train switch in Antequera to go from Granada to Cordoba. All the "trains" to and from Granada make this switch. Though it is handled well, it does add time. For us, I would say it added at least 1 1/2 hours.

Thanks to all who replied. We've taken your advice and have purchased the bus tickets.

You won't regret using ALSA Bus. We used it twice in Spain and we have no complaints. The bus is modern, clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned. On one our trips they gave each passenger a white bag with a bottle of water and some cookies!!!

Do you know its possible to get a Youth or Senior card if you're not a member of the EU and if they will honor it? Thanks.

I do not know about youth or senior cards. There might be a better forum for that information than this one, though. Good luck!

I bought a Tarjeta Dorada in 2016 without any difficulty. I was traveling on a US passport.

Anyone who is 60+ can get the tarjeta dorada discount card for a year at most, if not all, train stations in Spain for €6 (at last check). Many sights in Spain give a discount to seniors, most are 65+ and only a few are limited to Spanish residents/citizens. It never hurts to ask :-)

Thank you, Priscilla. Yes, we have evening tickets to theAlhambra and day tickets the next day. We're covered! Fortunately for forums such as RS, we have been able to buy tickets to every venue we've wanted to experience by doing so early.
