How do I book a ticket from madrid to sevilla with a stopover in cordoba
is that possible? or do i have to by single tickets to each place?

You’d need to buy separate tickets; Madrid to Córdoba, and Córdoba to Sevilla.

To book RR tickets you might go to the Renfe website. Tickets usually aren't available for purchase until 60 days in advance (check that it might be 90, but I don't think so). One ticket at a time. The website was famous for being 'clunky'. The earlier you book the better the price.

IRYO, the new high-speed train operator in Spain, is now competing with Spain’s national train company Renfe on one of the few routes that IRYO now is competing for Renfe’s business. Right now, you can buy tickets online on IRYO trains for as little as $19 between Madrid Atocha and Cordoba and another ticket from Cordoba to Seville Santa Justa for about $16 all the way through December at either www.IRYO.eu or www.TheTrainline.com.
