We are going to be starting the Camino Frances walk in Leon and would like suggestions for hotels that are convenient for the walk but also central for sightseeing the day we arrive. Thank you.

My choice would be the Parador Hostal de San Marcos in Leon. www.parador.es/en/paradores/parador-de-leon It is well priced and amazing.

I was driving and only stayed one night in Leon, so I don't remember which place I used. Knowing me, it would have been one of the three cheaper listings from Ricks's guidebook with a single for €35. The price differences are smaller if you're looking for a double room, but the cheapest one is www.sanmartinhostales.es.

Joy, our daughter is just finishing the same path, she'll be in Finisterre tomorrow ;-) She stayed one night at Hotel Riosol and she said it was fine. Nothing to write home about, it has decent reviews on TA. Sounds like it's budget friendly and central. I see that she paid 36.34 euro, total.

I stayed at the Hotel Posada Regia when I was in Leon last October. It is located in an historic building which also houses an excellent restaurant.
