Hotels in Barcelona- older travelers - no bath tub shower

Hi
I am planning on visiting Barcelona for the first time. We are looking for a nice clean 3 or 4 star hotel centrally located that will have walk-in showers- no tubs.
We have difficulty getting into tub/showers.
Seems like many have tubs
Thanks

We have the same preference, for safety and aesthetic reasons. We are going to Barcelona later this month. In my search for a hotel, I noticed that the newer, more modern hotels tend to have the walk-in showers, no bathtub. Often they are designated as rain showers, which I really like. I found several 4* hotels in the H10 chain that meet the requirement. I confirmed the shower type by looking at room photos on TripAdvisor.

I ended up choosing the Uber-modern H10 Cubik, but it was but one of many possibilities ( not all in the H10 group) in our desired location.

Understand the preference for walk-in shower vs. tub. (our room had both) This is why we chose Hotel Jazz in the quiet centrally located Eixample area. It is a lovely contemporary hotel 0.2 miles from the center. It is a 5 min. easy walk to Plaza Catalunya, 10 mins to the Gothic Quarter. The hotel features a rooftop pool, bar, and terrace with a view of the city. It is a great place to relax after a day of touring. In addition, the buffet breakfast was the best we had in Spain. www.hoteljazz.com.

Janis,

I wanted to recommend Hotel Jazz, but we were there 8 years ago and I could not recall the bathroom arrangement. I am glad you posted to include it, as it is a good choice too.

Edit: looking at photos on TripAdvisor, I see a lot of bathtubs with a glass partition printed with "Hotel Jazz". That jogs my memory and is what we had there: a tub we had to climb into and out of. So they must have both types of rooms.

The Olivia Balmes Hotel is fairly new & has walk-in showers. Look at the interior photos first. The shower is located in the bedroom, in a smoked glass box.

Walk-in showers are a feature of many (all?) accessible rooms. I would not assume that all rooms in a hotel have walk-in showers without asking.

We enjoyed staying at the Hotel Midmost: https://www.hotelmidmost.com/en. They have walk-in showers (rain shower heads). It is located between the Plaza Catalunya and Plaza Universitat squares near the Las Ramblas and Paseo de Gracia Boulevard, just a few steps from a metro station.

This hotel was a nice blend of location and excellent service and tranquility. We had a room with an enclosed patio (off the street), They have a lovely roof top bar with a small wading pool. It is a nice way to relax after a long-day of sightseeing before heading out to dinner. They also have a fantastic breakfast with different juice choices each day, fresh pastries, eggs, fruit, and more. When we head back to Barcelona, we will stay there again.

Lola,
Thanks for mentioning Hotel Jazz. We were there 2 1/2 years ago and their Deluxe Family Room had both a tub & walk in shower. The photo can be seen on Booking.com. BTW good choice in the hotel you've chosen for your upcoming trip. Looks wonderful!

I guess my husband and I qualify as older travelers.

We really loved the U232 Hotel in the Eixample back in 2017. But I honestly don't remember if the shower was a walk-in or not. I would suggest emailing the hotel directly and asking about their showers. The U232 is a bit removed from the action, but we walked to everything except Parc Guell.
