Going to Barcelona in mid-October. Looking for a nice budget friendly hotel preferably nothing over $150 per night in a safe quiet neighborhood, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

I know you asked for a hotel, but this is where I stayed last time. Just a couple of blocks from the Sagrada Familia. Very nice apartment. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/3486957?source_impression_id=p3_1722878516_P3PHRw6gmAFVgmp-
Another vote to consider looking into AirBnBs in Barcelona. We stayed in one nicely appointed studio a block or so from a Metro station, and 6-7 blocks from the Barcelona Sants rail station. Quiet safe neighborhood away from the tourist attractions. Took the Metro to get close to Sagrada Familia, La Rambla. Quite a hike from the Metro station to the entrance at Park Guell, but that is independent of where one is staying.
Just a little context before you support Airbnb in a city like Barcelona, especially nowadays.
I've had an AiB&B booked for many months. We are going in October as well. This just makes me sad and concerned. I want to be a respectful tourist. I didn't want to stay in a big hotel but I do enjoy more of a boutique experience. I chose the apartment for the area and the price. The owners have been so lovely. I feel so torn over what is happening in Barcelona. I don't want to assume that we will not be welcomed.
I hope you have an excellent trip.
If the people in Barcelona wanted to ban AirBnb's they would. The voters have chosen not to. Don't feel guilty
