hotel suggestions Barcelona

The Neri in the older section of Barcelona is absolutely lovely and charming. It would be a very special and memorable place for a honeymoon.

The Alma Barcelona is also very special. It has a very modern decor.

Both are special in different ways. If you will be in Barcelona for several days, maybe split your time between the two, which is what we did in March last year. Each of the two locations provides a feel for two different (but both very nice) neighborhoods and the resulting convenience for sights in the two different areas of Barcelona.

Totally agreeing with @Wonderful, luxury can be very expensive in Barcelona and same as romantic, these concepts differ from person to person. As does the style and preferences.... and budget.

Yet, here you have a short list of some mixed options for nice "non-big scale generic brand" hotels that might or might not suit you, note Barcelona has dozens of hotels like these:
