We will be arriving in Barcelona May1 and plan on several days there. Any favorite affordable hotel recommendations would be appreciated. We are both seniors but active and would like to be near sights. Thank you

We have Hotel Lleo booked through booking.com for this coming July. It is listed in Rick Steve’s recommended hotels and near the central recommended area of Catalonia Placa. I hope it’s ok. Seemed affordable as we have family of 11 staying in 3 rooms.

We stayed at Ibis Centro ( sagrada familia ) . As name indicates it is near the church and also 2 metro stations. Friendly staff, goomprice

I was in Barcelona last May and stayed at the H10 Uroquina Plaza hotel. Join the H10 Club for free which will give you free breakfast and additional discounts. The location was perfect for touring all of Barcelona. There is a Metro station right in front of the hotel.
I like all of the H10 hotels so any of them will be a good option for you in Barcelona. I am returning in May and will try the H10 Metropolitan hotel for that trip.
