Hotel Recommendations Cordoba

Next spring my husband and I are going to do the Best of Spain tour followed by the Heart of Portugal. We have four days between the two tours so are trying to decide how best to spend our time. We could spend the four days in Sevilla and then fly to Lisbon, split the difference between the two cities or go from Sevilla to Cordoba for a few days in between tours before flying to Lisbon. Hotels in Sevilla and Lisbon are not a problem, but if we decide to take the train to Cordoba, I have no idea where we might stay. Any suggestions about activities and/or hotels for those four days would be appreciated.

We stayed one night at the Hotel NH Collection Amistad Córdoba. It was a nice modern hotel with a very nice bathroom, and the hotel has a spacious courtyard and even a pool.

But, I just looked at recent reviews, and they are very mixed. So, I will leave this on here as one to not select.

In Cordoba we stayed at Las Casas de la Juderia. It consists of 5 homes attached together with courtyards. Our room was spacious, and we had a good-sized marble bathroom. The hotel is in a very convenient location in Juderia, and a few minutes walk from the Mezquita and the Alcazar.

In addition to visiting the Mezquita and the Alcazar, we really enjoyed Palacio de Viana, a small palace with 12 lovely patios. The Roman Bridge is fun to walk across. When we were there, Spanish families were strolling across the bridge and socializing with friends. Had dinner one night at Mercado Victoria, a lovely indoor market with interesting food stalls. And exploring the Juderia is a lot of fun with its narrow lanes, white-washed walls, patios and flowers. Will you be in Cordoba during the Festival of Patios?

I second the recommendation for Las Casa de la Juderia. It has an excellent central location, was lovely and peaceful in their interior courtyard, and the staff was helpful. We were there in early May this year.

When arriving by train, we have just stayed at the AC Hotel Cordoba. Modern, clean and efficient. Practically across the street from the train station, we could just drop our luggage and then stroll down to the old city (there is a park most of the way). It takes about 30 minutes to walk to the Mezquita.

I looked at the Juderia hotel and a few others. Most of them have cancellation policies that require over a week's notice to not be charged for at least a day. That's a bit much for me.

We stayed in Casa de la Juderia in May and you could cancel up to the day of arrival. I just checked again, and it seems they have a new policy, and you need to cancel 2 days ahead to avoid being charged for 1 night.

I ran into some strict cancellation policies when I went to Andalucia in April 2019. I think my (budget-level) hotel in Seville had a 14-day requirement. At the time I assumed the situation was due to my timing--I was traveling around Easter.

If you are still looking at hotels, we just spent a night at the Balcon de Cordoba and it was incredible. Amazing service and beautiful room and ambiance for the price. Highly recommend.

If you are okay to stay in an apartment with kitchen and laundry machine, We just visited Cordoba for 3 nights and stayed in a nice one in good location (15 minutes walk to train station and 10 minutes walk to the Mosque-Cathedral and Bell tower). We booked it on Booking.com, name is "Apartamento Gran Capitán Uno", big, clean, very modern and with very comfortable king size bed and good cancellation policy, and very good reviews (9+).

We also stayed at the AC Cordoba. Not the quaint historic hotel but modern and comfortable and reasonably priced. Loved arriving by train and being across the street from the hotel. It is a 20 minute walk to the Mezquita and Alhambra. Only suggestion is to request a room on the back side because the main road is busy and the crosswalk beeps regularly.
