In Barcelona- Hotel midmost- good restaurants nearby

Hotel Midmost appears to be a bit out of the way from the real culinary action down in El Born or Poble Sec. However literally right next door, you can try Enrique Tomás, it's a well known Jamoneria chain, a place specialising in Spanish Jamon Iberico, it's more geared towards tourists, but I think that it gives a good introduction into the art and world of Jamon.

What are some solid restaurants in born?

In El Born, I like a place called Bar Celta Pulperia, on Carrer de la Princesa. It's a Galician style seafood tapas bar that specialises in Galician Octopus (Pulpo a la Gallega). Another specialty is their Pimientos de Padron, which are sauteed green peppers that are usually mild, but every so often you get a spicy pepper. Bar Celta is a little more old school than the newer tapas bars, but it is still pretty popular with locals.
