Hello. Where is a nice hotel with air conditioning in the area where the statue of Christoper Columbus is situated by the water?

Why are you interested in staying in that area? It is adjacent to Las Ramblas, crowded and packed with tourists.

The area near the Christopher Columbus statue is not particularly near anything else of interest for most visitors. And while it's near a metro stop, anything else in the city will be uphill, so you won't be walking as much as you would if your hotel was in a more convenient area.
Tell us your budget, and your reason for wanting to stay near the Christopher Columbus statue, and people can give better recommendations.
