Hotel Gaudi or Hosteria Grau in Barcelona - Feedback Please

Ready to book our 7th RS Tour the Best of Barcelona & Madrid for the dates of March 26- April 2, 2017.
We will be traveling with 2 other couples that include 2 of their adult daughters. The plan is to add 3 additional nights in Barcelona for day trips. Looking at Hotel Gaudi or Hosteria Grau as possible options.
Please share any feedback or other recommendations. Prefer a location near the Ramblas and would love to stay under 150 euros per night. We are hoping to find one location for our group of 8.
Thanks, Tess

Here is where our RS Best of Spain tour stayed this summer: Catalonia Portal de l'Angel. It was one of the nicest hotels on the tour. It's a short walk to the Ramblas, has a pool, and a great breakfast. We will be taking the Basque tour and will return to Barcelona first. We would not consider another hotel.

After reviewing the options, we booked a 5 bed / 3 bath apartment via VRBO for our group of 8.
The location will be convenient and the apartment setting will allow our gang to have a common area to gather for wine !
Thanks to all for their input. Tess

Guys,

I'd like to point out that Barcelona is a city with different areas (neighbourhoods) worth visiting, not only because the sights and attractions are spread across the city but also because she has an excellent public transportation system: safe, clean, cheap, fast and very convenient that most Barcelonians also use. This is to say that one should not fret much about location, if your apartment/hotel is located near a metro station (or a main bus line) you can move about very quickly, making it less relevant whether you're located here or there. Also, out of the 73 neighbourhoods of the city, barely 6-7 would be preferable to avoid, and they're unlikely to appear in most listings anyway.

Just sayin'.
