Hotel Europa in Madrid to airport

Lots of RS folks seem to stay at Hotel Europa in Madrid, so my husband & I booked 4 nights there. Upon checkout the last morning, we'll be catching a 6:35 a.m. flight - will need to go by taxi SUPER early! Google maps suggests its about a 40 minute drive and may cost about $40 and I'll be asking the hotel receptionist to help me book the taxi. Does this sound right? Also, have seen posts indicating taxis can't come right in front of the hotel. Is it a long walk?

Thank you!

I took a taxi from the Hotel Europa to the Madrid airport last summer, in the morning. No problem. Price sounds about right and 40 minutes is about right, butyou might allow for more time since it is at the beginning of the morning commute. The Hotel Europa is close to where the taxis can pick up....just down the hill about a block. The taxi driver came down to the hotel and helped me with my luggage. They can park briefly at the top of the street before the no drive zone. The hotel was very helpful in calling the taxi the night before.

It was 30 euro from the same area in 2019, took about that long in late afternoon, the driver came to the hotel (a different one near the Europa). You should be OK if you can get yourselves up early enough. The hotel and driver will be reliable.

Well less than 40 minutes at that time of the AM. 20, maybe 30, tops.

The flat fare from the airport to the center is 30euro. I'm honestly not sure if that's the case upon departure.

I don't know where they'd have your pick up, but it cant be more than a 5-minute walk. (I can think of at least three places to hail a cab on the street five minutes from there.)

See if you can find what time your airline's check-in desk opens. No point in arriving at the airport earlier than that.

Taxis can get very close to the hotel. We took a taxi from the airport and were dropped off about half a block away. If you use google earth and look up 1 Calle de Alcala, we were dropped off right in front of the farmacia there.

We’ve always taken the metro to/from the airport. It opens at 6am and takes about 40 minutes

I prefer to take the cercanias train from Sol—just one, super easy connection. But I always use T4. I know the math is different for 1/2/3. But the point really is mute for a flight departing at 6:35am
