Has anyone done a hop on/hop off bus in Madrid? We are looking for something easy and inexpensive the first day to get the lay of of the land. Thank you in advance.

Madrid Old Town is a relatively small area and best absorbed via walking.

I agree with Steven. Walking to scope out the land and stopping at a couple of terraces for a coffee/beer/wine/menu del dia/vermut to catch the vibes.
