Are open toe, Ecco sandals appropriate to hike in Andalucia area, i.e. Mijas?

I have never hiked in Andalusia, cycling yes! Walking in Sandals are not my thing. Individuals hike the Wasatch range in all most any foot wear. So, you can too! Be careful of dirt or sand coming within!

No need to hike.
Just normal good walking sneakers or shoes would work.
