I will be in Las Alpujarras area for a couple of days next May and would like to do some hiking. I enjoy strenuous trails, preferably with some good views. Any recommendations? Also, how safe is it to hike alone in this area?

We are heading to Spain next week and have a week scheduled in the Las Alpujarras for hiking although I guessing we prefer less strenuous trails than what you are looking for. Regardless, I'll respond to this post on our return.
