Hiking from Ronda

Hello,

We will be spending two nights in Ronda in April and would like to do a nice hike. I would like to know if there is a good hike from Ronda or should we go to Grazalema to do a hike. I have read about some different options but would like to hear from anyone who has done some hiking here and could give some suggestions. A 3-4 hour hike would be great.

Thanks for any advice you could give.

I think you can find some good hikes closer to Ronda, near Benaojan. Here's one:
http://www.dafacto.com/hike-benaojan-to-montejaque-loop/ Time didn't permit for us to do any hiking when we were there, but had time allowed this one looked appealing. We did spend a little time at the pool at the mouth of the Cueva del Gato, a very nice spot and there may be other trails that include this spot.

I was also going to suggest that if you are insane and like to live (very) dangerously, you could try the Caminito del Rey. But apparently it's been restored and has re-opened since I was in that area a few years ago.

Thank you both for your hiking suggestions. They both sound great and will research them more. I think I will pass on the Caminito del Rey : ) Looking at the older pictures, it is pretty scary. I see that they have just reopened it with lots of improvements. I would love to try it but I know my sister would never be able to handle it. It looks very beautiful. I just ordered the book Walking in the Ronda Mountains by Tony Bishop to see what he suggests. Maybe we will even get a hike in on our drive from Seville to Ronda.

Thanks again!!
