Hiking and countryside outside of Granada?

Looking to rent a car one day... hike a few hours and drive around the countryside. We know of the one trail that is beautiful and well-liked and apparently strewn with toilet paper???? Los Cohhoros. Any suggestions, tips if we were to drive around after that hike (or another hike?). Beautiful town for lunch?

Los Cohhoros was the first hike I thought about. Good news. We hiked it about a year ago and I don't remember any toilet paper. This web site helped me find hikes around Andalusia. I know she had other ones in the Granada area, but don't remember how difficult or long they were. We had to cancel the other hike we were going to do because it had snowed in the mountains.

She has one called the 9 best hikes in the Sierra Nevadas that might be a good place to start. (although the mountain range is large and starting points can be an hour or two from Granada).

There were some restaurants in the town, but we had brought our lunch and needed to scoot to get up to Toledo that afternoon. I do see people complain about the trash, but we really didn't see much on the trail. (My husband picks up trash as he hikes and he doesn't remember any either.) No gaurentees but apparently someone does clean it up occasionally.

Had I a car at my disposal last month in Granada, I vowed to visit Caminito del Rey with a trophy lunch on the beach in Malaga in a loop trip. Inspired by a YouTube video on the hike on the channel called Pure Detour. Granada gobbled up my three days, no day trips required. I’m a bit envious.

Yes, the Caminito Del Rey is a fabulous experience. Anyone deciding to go should pre-book their online if they can. They only save a few tickets to pass out that day. Also, it is crowded and popular.
