Help with Spain itinerary and Hotels

We will be travelling to Spain (Andalucia) at the end of September for eight nights. Please give me your thoughts .

Arrive MAD. Rent car
Stop to see Consuegra (is this worth it) on way to Granada (two nights)
Nerja is there a better beach town to stay? (two nights). Will it still be warm enough for beach?
Ronda (two nights) On way to Sevilla would like to stop to see Arcos since RS says this is his favorite!
Sevilla (two nights). On way to MAD would like to stop to see Cordova.

Also, any hotels recommendations would be great! Has anyone stayed at Hotel Casa Morisca?

Thank you.

Consuegra is worth it with a car on that route. I don't think it is worth a huge hassle, but I went on that exact same schedule (bw Madrid and Granada, arrival day) and it was a nice welcome to Spain feeling. If your flight is delayed it's not the end of the world if you have to skip it.

Nerja is my favorite beach town, but I haven't been to all that many. It is quite pretty. When driving there from Granada consider a stop in some of the Alpujarras villages. Lovely and not all that busy. In general I think September will be ok for the beach but obviously this depends on the specific weather patterns. Average highs are in the low 80s or high 70s then.

Consuegra is worth it. The castle and windmills are easy to get to from the CM42. You can see the castle from the road so you won't get lost. The castle costs a few euros to enter but is worth it. My first time visiting it was in the late 70s when it was really just a ruin and free to roam around. It is much nicer now. If you are into wndmills, then Campo de Criptana is nearby. After leaving Consuegra, stay on the CM42 past the E5, then get onto the CM420 until you arrive. Those windmills are the ones Don Quixote referred to as Giants. If you can only do one, pick Consuegra. You will enjoy Ronda and Arcos de la Frontera. The one way road leading to the overlook in Arcos is narrow and has a couple really tight turns on the way down. Parking is available but limited at the overlook. Consider taking the tram from town if your vehicle is large or you hate really narrow streets.

Straight down the E902/A44 from Granada are the beach towns of Salobrena and Motril. Consider checking them out as possible places to stay. They are less touristy than Marbella or Torremolinos. I've never stopped at Nerja. In late September 2014 (my last visit) southern Spain was in a heat wave and it was in the mid-90s every day.

I had chosen Hotel Casa Morisca as a suggestion for a friend, who didn't end up staying. It gets good reviews, is in a good location (with Alhambra views) and is seemingly good value. Lovely patio in photos online.

I would return the car in Sevilla. The train is faster than driving and you won't have to pay for parking and you won't need the car. If you book in advance for trains, you can get as much as 40-60% discount. Buy tickets Sevilla (S. Justa) to Cordoba and Cordoba to Madrid. You can store your luggage for the day in Cordoba at the bus station across the street from the train station.
