help with Spain itinerary, 10-14 days

Hi everyone!
We have narrowed down the places we would like to visit to the below. Can you help us understand:

  1. the best way to get to each location (we would like to avoid renting a car; open to airplanes if necessary; times below are according to Rome2Rio site).
  2. which places to stay overnight or day trip from where? have noted some of our thoughts so far... not complete - need your feedback!
  3. suggestions of lockers to put our luggage (hiking backpacks) for places that are not overnights or daytrips; for places that are "pass throughs"

Would like to keep the trip at 10-14 days (i know, not enough time).
BTW we love gardens (otherworldly and/or manicured), labyrinths, hiking, graphic design, animation, art, laziness on the beach, kayaking, ancient ruins, but open to most everything though.

Thanks!
Ling

Madrid, stay 2-3 nights
2 hour train to Cordoba (alcazar de los reyes cristanes gardens, and tbd ...)
1 hour train to Seville (find flamenco, and tbd)
2.5 hour bus to Ronda (hike el tajo gorge, new bridge)
2 hour bus/train to Malaga, stay 1-2 nights (Museo Picasso, Birthplace Picasso, Malaga Port and Centre Pompidou pop up, Alcazaba, Gibralfaro, La Concepción Jardín Botánico-Historico)
1.5 hour bus to Nerja, stay 1-2 nights (beach, kayak/hike)
2 hour but to Granada, maybe stay 1 night (Alhambra, wander the city, Casa Museo Manuel de Falla)

You can visit Cordoba on the way to Sevilla. There is luggage storage in the bus station across the street from the train station. Sevilla is a good place to spend a couple nights. I don't think you'll have enough time in Ronda unless you spend a night - and sunset is quite lovely there - great views. If you can't get tickets to the Alhambra it's probably not worth going to Granada.

Your problem will be how to get from Andalucia to Barcelona. A recommendation is to fly from Granada. Or take the train (6 hours) from Malaga.

Just returned from Spain, visiting Madrid, Barcelona, Cordoba, Seville, Ronda and Granada. In Seville, we stayed at a little hotel called El Palacio del Corregidor, Sanchez Pena 6. It was within walking distance to everything. The hotel is nestled in the middle of a neighborhood with winding roads and narrow passages, but not hard to get in and out once you know the layout. In Seville, We stayed at Hotel Simon, Garcia de Vinuesa, 19. It was one block from the cathedral in one direction and three blocks from the plaza de torros and well within walking distance to other sights. We attended a flamenco show at Tablao Los Gallos, located in the Santa Cruz district of the city. There are plenty of other flamenco venues, some you pay some you don't. We paid, but it was well worth it since it was a packed house and we had paid reservations.
Ronda is small and very touristy, but worth at minimum one nights stay. In Granada, we stayed at Hotel Puerta de las Granadas, Cuesta de Gomerez, 14. It was down the street from the entrance to the Alhambra (up hill walk) and across the street from Plaza Nueva and great shopping district. The Alhambra is usually all booked up 2 months out, but you may be able to get tickets to the Alcazar and Generalife grounds, which you can walk up to the towers and look out over the city and also enjoy the manicured gardens. I think we only paid like 7 euros each to get in. Our hotel was all within walking distance to all the sights. It was great. Enjoy.
