Help with itinerary Barcelona-to ??- Sevilla-Barcelona

Hi-
My husband and I and 8 year old twins will be flying in and out of Barcelona March 30-April9th. We must go to Sevilla in between there to visit the family I stayed with years ago when studying there. We will take the fast train to and from. I plan to spend about 3 days in Sevilla and 2 days on each end in Barcelona? Should I try to fit something else in between Barcelona and Sevilla like Toledo? Cordoba or stay longer in Barcelona and go close like Girona? Or longer in Sevilla and go to white towns etc close to Sevilla? I can't figure it out?? Thanks so much!!

Best,
Kim

Might as well go somewhere close to Seville. Maybe even as a day trip. Your family living in Seville may also have some ideas

Three days in Sevilla is nothing. It’s a splendid place with much to see. Cordoba is a quick train ride for a day trip to see the Mesquita if you want. But, I think what you have planned is fine, but I count 11 days (?)

Alan, I think Kim's count is about right. The 30th and the 9th don't count. That leaves 9 days, with mostly of two just for the journey to/from Barcelona. Door-to-door with a 6-hour train ride is pretty much a whole day.

Kim - Stick with Sevilla. It's too time consuming to pack and unpack and keep the flock together and moving along. There are day trips from Sevilla - maybe the dancing horses show at the Royal Equestrian School on Thursday at noon (buy in advance - they sell out). Take the train to Jerez, then a taxi to the school. I believe you can view the horses up close in the paddocks before the show if you get there early. Then you could take the train to Cadiz for the afternoon along the beach. Definitely day-trip to Cordoba to see the Mezquita and the Juderia. There's plenty to see in Sevilla too.
