heathrow to madrid flight

We are coming in to London Heathrow and need a separate flight to get to Madrid in May. I see Ryan Air, any others? Also, how much time do I need to allow between flights? It looks like my choices are 1 hr. 15 min and over 4 hours...I know I have to pass through customs. We won't have any checked luggage. Thanks!

Over 4 hours. Connecting to a flight on the same ticket in 1 hr 15 min would take a whole lot of luck. Separate tickets, no way.

Check Google flights for options for your date. There should be other options: Iberia, Vueling, etc.

If you’re looking for similar pricing to RyanAir, look at Vueling. Is British Airways not an option for your continued flight to Madrid?

Forget Ryanair. They fly from Stansted, not Heathrow. Even with 4 hours you would never make the connection. Concentrate on carriers from Heathrow. They will cost more but avoid changing airports.

Well, curious, I checked and Vueling flies out of Heathrow, but you might get a stop in Barcelona on the way to Madrid. Iberia flies direct from Heathrow to Madrid, faster, but also likely pricier.

It turns out that Vueling, Iberia, and British Airways are all owned by the same parent company.

The real solution is to buy a single ticket from home to Madrid.

If you choose to do a 2 ticket trip ( into/out of LHR) then the 4 + hr choice is the only sane option

Changing from LHR to STN to get a Ryanair flight in a 4 hr window of time is all but certain to end badly.

British airways has a few flights to Madrid daily using either its planes or partner company Iberia. For an October trip we have a 2 hours layover at Heathrow and that’s shorter than I prefer. We’re on the same ticket. From previous trips we know it will take at least an hour to catch the connecting flight and we arrive and depart from the same terminal.

Thanks all!! I misspoke, meant Iberian/British air from Heathrow. I grabbed the more conservative, later and (of course) more expensive flight.
