I'm staying in Barcelona in late June. I found a screaming deal at H10 Urquinaona and from all my research, it seems to fit my needs perfectly. I did notice that they had another location, Madison, that is quite near and slightly more expensive. Is there any compelling reason to switch to the Madison? I'm having a hard time finding the difference, but I've never been to Barcelona, maybe there is something meaningful about the change in location?
Locations?
We stayed in H10 Urquinaona a few years ago and loved it. The location is fine and close to bus and next to the Metro station of the same name. We were able to walk many places and even take the bus. I chose a slightly more expensive room with a balcony view and loved it. Beautiful hotel updated an old bank building.
I think the Madison is closer to Plaza Catalunya and the Aerobus, but nothing significant.
We stayed in H10 Madison in October 2022. The location was excellent - just across the road from the Palau de la Música Catalana and a couple of minutes to the cathedral. Madison had a lovely rooftop bar and pool. We also considered H10 Urquinaona but went with the Madison because it had the bigger pool. I had a couple of really nice swims.
Not sure which one I stayed at but I really like H 10 hotels. Enjoy your stay!
Thank you all. A pool would definitely be nice, but it looks like they are both plunge pools, and for the Nice portion of our trip, we are staying at a hotel with a real pool. In any case, I just checked, and Madison only has cheap rooms left, for more than I am paying at Urquinaona with a terrace and breakfast, so I am going to leave well enough alone.
I was so excited to find this deal -- I really thought a decent hotel would be more expensive, and this has made the budget for this long (for me) trip much more manageable.
