Group Tour of the Alhambra in Granada?

Hi guys,

Does anyone have a source for a group tour of the Alhambra? Rick's book mentions some private guides but they are pricey. I know there is an audio guide but we really prefer an in-person tour.

There are several guided tours offered on TripAdvisor but I prefer this group as a resource if possible.

Thanks in advance!

One thing to keep in mind about a group tour (or really any guided tour) of the Alhambra: You can only enter the Nasrid Palaces one time. They are only part of the large complex, but they are by far the most beautiful part. When the tour is ready to move on, if you feel you haven't had enough time there to absorb the beauty, to take pictures without tons of other people in them, etc., you have two choices: 1) continue with the tour, disappointed, or 2) stay in the Nasrid Palaces and forget about the rest of the tour.

I'd be especially concerned about this if your travel party includes folks who like to take a lot of photos.

Good Point!

I have read some good reviews about guided group tours on TripAdvisor and Get Your Guide. I have booked tours based on these recommendations in the past. However, the fact that it is sold out for three days during the week that I want to go makes me very nervous to trust anyone other than myself with my tickets.

I think I will buy our tickets on the official website and worry about a guide later. At least I will have my tickets in hand.

Grabbing tickets is smart. They are one of Europe's great travel bargains, so the risk is relatively small. (And I say that as someone who is loath to prepurchase sightseeing tickets.)

CaliMom- sorry to hear you had to postpone-- but December will be great in Granada-- I hope! Everyone raved about Margarita on RS recommended tour guides so we were going with her. But please post back if you found something awesome. She charges around 150 euros for three hours for three people with you getting the tickets.

Thanks Jebenna!

Yes, Margarita is supposed to be fantastic! I'm guessing that WalkingGranada is too since they also are an RS recommendation but am hoping someone has used them for a tour.
