Heading to Barcelona next week and want to hear what your favorite, most memorable meals or bites were. From fancy to funky (though we don't need fancy) just tasty, fun, hopefully less touristy places to eat and have a great experience!
When I used to live near la Sagrada Família, I went to Restaurant Azul on Carrer de Còrsega quite a few times, and go back whenever I am back in Barcelona. This restaurant focuses on a more hardy inland/mountain cuisine. The food at this restaurant is very good, honest and quite tasty. You will only find locals here, however communication may be a problem as they do not speak any English and the menus will only be in Catalan/Spanish. Order from the "Menu del Dia" during lunch, for a high quality regional/seasonal menu at an amazing price!
In El Born, there is a pretty good tapas bar called Bar Celta Pulperia, that specialises in Galician Octopus (Pulpo a la Gallega). Personally my favorite tapa they have is called Pimientos de Padron, which is another Galician treat. Bar Celta has two locations, in the Gothic Quarter and one in El Born. There will probably be some tourists but also a good amount of locals too.
My friend, who is a local of La Barceloneta, took me once to a restaurant called Montolio Can Maño their claim to fame is fresh simple local seafood dishes. Note that this place can get quite busy and there may be a bit of a wait; as the restaurant is smallish and very popular with locals (and tourists).

Not one specifically, but I loved wandering around the Gothic Quarter and trying out the tapas at different bars.
We actually never ate at a proper restaurant. Just did tapas and cava.
